How about Coulson? Let’s talk about Phil Coulson from Marvel Cinematic Universe

Coulson was introduced in 2008’s “Iron Man”, portrayed by actor Clark Gregg. He was a little character, not a name from the comic series and just attached to the movie by being a SHIELD agent. He was a grunt. Had a few memorable lines and a stoic disposition in spite of a GIANT KILLER ROBOT and more explosions than the 4th of July.

He appeared again in “Iron Man 2” in 2010. His character appeared in two scenes, both of them hilarious moments worth repeating
He also proved to be a reality TV fan.
Then came “Thor” in 2011. Coulson was given much more screen time and even a movie short, “A Funny Thing Happened On the Way to Thor’s Hammer”

Thor dubbed Coulson, ‘Son of Coul’ and the name has stuck with the fandom ever since.
By this point many fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe were falling head over heels in love with Coulson. Boy was that expanded upon in 2012’s “Avengers”.
First we had moments like this

Stoic and non-shalant.
Then an extreme GPOY moment where Coulson meets his personal hero.

We learned that Coulson has a complete set of Captain America cards and is desperate for Steve to sign them. The same man that threatened to taze Tony turns into a child at the sight of his hero. It was too precious a moment for words.
Then the unthinkable happened.

But this did not dieter Coulson’s fans. I dare say he has more now than ever because of his sacrifice. Coulson has become a beloved character, one that scratched his way out of being a “red-shirt” to being acknowledged by Tony Stark as an Avenger (and the rest of the internet).

Coulson has become so popular that Clark Gregg’s likeness AND vocal work has been added as a regular character to the tv series “Ultimate Spider Man”.

So thank you multiple directors and writers for continuing to create such an amazing character. He is dearly loved.
And grats Clark Gregg for your performance. And being so adorably handsome.

I would like to thank everyone who watched “A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Thor’s Hammer” — Coulson really deserves the love.

On my account alone the video has gotten over 10,000 notes. That’s amazing. I mean really guys, WOW!
So, here’s to our favorite (indecisive) hero

Yes, yes, good.
“Director Fury, I need the full power of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s legal team, STAT. We need to limit how much actual meat you need to legally call something meatloaf. We can save the budget, men!”
Everyone, I present to you Principal Coulson’s priorities.
I literally can’t handle how often Coulson appears in Ultimate Spider Man

It was like a dream

He still believed in heroes.
An Agent of Conviction
^excuse me as I sob into my cereal
weeping openly
UGH
The motto above the Coulson family crest is Je mourrai pour ceux que j’aime. Which translates to I would die for those I love.
